Getting started

Every new volunteer starts with our introductory workshop. See events for dates.

  1. Step 1: Send us the form

Tell us a bit about you and when you're free.

  2. Step 2: Come to a workshop

Three hours, free, with morning tea. Covers safety, leading and side-walking.

  3. Step 3: Shadow a session

Work alongside an experienced volunteer until you feel ready.

  4. Step 4: Join the roster

Most volunteers come once a week for a morning or afternoon.

Why volunteers stay

Many of our volunteers have been with us for years.

  • Free training and refreshers each term
  • Flexible days and times
  • Time outdoors with horses
