Tiger helps Aiden eat his first vegetable

What his OT hasn't managed in almost a year, Tiger did in one session.

Aiden wanted to bring Tiger a carrot after another rider gave him one the week before. After his ride, with Tiger's bridle off, Aiden decided he would eat a carrot together with his beloved horse.

It was the first vegetable Aiden had ever eaten. His occupational therapist had been working on food for almost a year without success.

Aiden now eats carrots at home, which opens the door to trying other vegetables. "Thank you, Tiger. Equine therapy really does work in multiple areas of a challenging life."

Shared with the family's permission.

Meet Tiger

Tiger is a hugely valuable member of the RDA team. He can be used for all our programmes and is gentle and sweet. He is often the first horse a volunteer learns to work with, and he looks after his riders with care.
